ABOUT
The Horsemen of the Apocalypse is an internationally acclaimed, high-octane quartet known for their hypnotic, heady fusion of Latin, Moorish, Jazz and Acoustic Rock music.

In 1992, brothers Ben and Jon Salfield toured across the UK as a technical guitar and lute duo called "Ramas de la 'Ud" (Branches of the Oud). At the time, both were becoming known in their respective fields of renaissance and flamenco music, and they ended up taking a break for several years to concentrate on solo projects. In 1999, they reformed for an improvised concert at Plymouth City Museum in 1999. One reviewer described the duo in glowing terms as "a revelation" - and the idea of the name "Horsemen of the Apocalypse" was born!

The duo was rejuvenated, and concerts across Europe soon followed, highlights of which were two sell-out tours in Germany and one in Poland, which included an appearance at Zory Festival. This was filmed by BBC World and seen by an estimated 12 million people worldwide. Their infamous performance at a Heavy Metal venue in Warsaw that is still talked about in some quarters today!
On Thursday 5th March 2009 the renowned world percussionist Simon Stanton appeared with the Horsemen in concert for the first time, as they performed to a full house at the Tolmen International Guitar Symposium in Cornwall. In the audience that day was a 10-year old Rowan Nightingale... who joined the band some seven years later! He made his debut with the Horsemen on Friday 3rd June 2016 at Flushing Arts Week in Cornwall, a warm-up for their sell-out show at Hay Festival the following evening. The line-up, after 25 years, was complete. The fourth horseman brought a new, edgier dimension to the ensemble, and the band was ready to go on tour again.
In June 2017, the Horsemen of the Apocalypse finally released their long-awaited album, "Revelation". Featuring a blend of their best-known works, the disc is the first to be released on the Kernow Concerts label.

In the last two years, the Horsemen's exploits have included performing for over 13k people at Home Park football stadium and tours including European dates across Germany and Hungary. In 2018, Shirt & Tie productions filmed a documentary about the group on their German tour, "March On Nordhorn"... a film that has sold over 24k copies on DVD to date.
